Meliora Therapeutics is leveraging modern biology and machine learning to drastically improve the efficiency of cancer drug development. In short, the vast majority of cancer drugs fail in clinical trials, and off-target effects are often to blame. We're using sophisticated genomic and machine learning techniques to accurately characterize how drugs affect cells and thereby to develop new drugs more efficiently. Our platform has already surfaced a number of interesting candidate drugs with promising laboratory validation and we are just getting started.
Our founding team has strong experience in software, machine learning, and biology developed through experience at Google, Verily, Benchling, and the Yale School of Medicine to complement advanced degrees from universities such as MIT, Princeton, and UPenn. We are moving with urgency to capitalize on the opportunity ahead of us, and are fresh out of stealth after raising our $11mm seed round. We are backed by leading funds who were early investors in world class companies such as Gilead, Recursion, Insitro, Benchling, and others.
