Pinterest | iOS engineering contractor for Pinterest ATG | Remote (North America)

The Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) at Pinterest is looking for an iOS contractor to work directly with our computer vision engineers and help us rapidly prototype new visual search and augmented reality features. The ideal candidate would work with us for at least 6-12 months, hopefully longer if interests are aligned. This position is fully remote, though you’ll need to be based in North America. Most of the team is based in the Pacific timezone.

ATG works on many of the core ML efforts at Pinterest, including large-scale representation learning via massive graphs, visual search applications that power features like Pinterest Lens, inclusive AI efforts like Skin Tone selection, and much more. This role is specifically focused on prototyping new iOS features for Pinterest Lens, so an appreciation for visual search or applied computer vision products is a nice plus. We use a lot of Figma in our product design process, so if you’re comfortable with that, even better.

The role requires onboarding to the Pinterest iOS stack, which means you’ll need a few years+ of ObjC fluency (Swift is great too, but you’ll still need ObjC). We use Texture, UIKit, CoreAnimation, and QuartzCore, so ideally please indicate your experience in these or alternatives. ARKit and RealityKit are both awesome and will come in handy, though we don’t expect candidates to be familiar with these.
