KREA (https://krea.ai/) | Onsite (San Francisco, CA) | FT

-

My name is Diego, Co-founder and CTO of KREA.

KREA is an AI Creative Suite. That is, a set of tools for creatives to help them use AI for design and artistic purposes. Some of our users are graphic designers, architects, 3D modelers, and artists from places like Apple or Pixar.

We are looking for design engineers. We have a small team by design. We're team of 6 (including me and my co-founder), yet our revenue has been growing “exceptionally well”—as per paul graham's way of ranking startups by growth rate. We're only engineers.

Design engineers, to me, are folks at the rare intersection of taste and logic; they know about typography or photography, as well as about webgl, webgpu, and sometimes they even submit patches to browsers!

The typical challenge you will face at KREA is nailing the trade-off between craftsmanship and pragmatism. This applies to UI design, rendering performance optimizations, or high-level system's design. We think someone's exceptional if they have an almost irrational bias for action and relentless focus independent of their experience. For instance, one of our engineers is a high-school dropout with barely any credentials and, a few months later, obtained his visa for extraordinary ability.

While we understand and accept that many folks here are looking for a small-scale or sustainable engineering opportunity, we think that we're entering the zeitgeist of AI for creativity and that warrants an attitude to go all-in (you can always take it easier later, but the best time to work hard is now, while opportunities are open). Internally, we deeply respect hard-working engineers like Evan Wallace, Rasmus Andersson, John Carmack, or Jonathan Blow.

Financially speaking, we are well-funded by top-tier investors—including founder of Facebook AI Research and a founding engineer at OpenAI.

We know the AI space is extremely entropic, but if this sounds even mildly enticing, I encourage you to apply.

---

How to apply?

1. Submit an essay to Email is hidden explaining why you are a fit for KREA.

2. Find the hidden code [here](https://pastebin.com/zxqjpwps) (hint: is not “K”).

3. Be creative.

FutureSearch gives unbiased, deeply-researched answers to hard questions about the world, and always gives a concrete answer.

Businesses need much better answers than ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc. can currently give. My cofounder and I are the former CTO and Head of AI at Metaculus, and our edge comes from implementing the workflows of expert forecasters. FutureSearch creates models from scratch on novel domains when a customer asks a question, and we test our claims against what actually happens.

We're an 8-month old, 5-person, fully-remote company. Email me directly with your resume if you're interested in a role, dan at futuresearch dot ai.

Pilot (https://pilot.com) | San Francisco (Onsite, Hybrid) | Full time

Pilot runs your business’s financial back office so you don’t have to: our aim is to provide our customers with the same superpowers as large companies with full finance teams — superpowers that include having a deep understanding of financial health of the business, the machinery to constantly improve it, and the predictive abilities to thoughtfully plan for the future. We do this at a fraction of the cost a large company would pay for this, by delivering these capabilities through powerful software.

We care about building a thoughtful, high-trust culture that values ownership and shipping. We’re looking to hire teammates from different backgrounds and experiences and are hiring for a number of engineering roles:

* Software Engineer, Product (2-5yrs experience) * Senior Software Engineer, Product (5+ years experience) * Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure (

All of our teams have unique charters to collectively build the software, services and systems that enable Pilot to deliver a high-quality experience, profitably, at scale. From the Banking Universe — teams that ingest, normalize, transform, and categorize customer financial data to the Business Universe — teams that ingest our customer revenue and expense information and produce accurate, automated accounting, you’ll work with a empathetic team that builds software that humans use and businesses rely on.

Pilot’s backend is written in fully typed Python 3.11, and our frontend is JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js. We use Terraform to manage our production infrastructure, and deploy Docker containers to ECS. AWS CodeDeploy powers our deployments and we rely on Honeycomb for our monitoring and Postgres as our database.
