Trunk | https://trunk.io | DevRel Engineer / Full Stack Software Engineer II| Senior Platform Engineer Full-Time | Hybrid SF or Remote US or Canada

Trunk is an a16z funded dev tools startup, redefining software development at scale. We aim to solve problems that developers hate by bringing the tools usually built in-house at the best engineering orgs to every development team. We've built 4 products so far and have plans for more:

* Code Quality: a universal linter/formatter, available as a CLI, VSCode extension, and CI check; * Merge Queue: a merge queue, to ensure that PRs are tested in order before they're merged; and * CI Analytics: detects, quarantines, and eliminates flaky tests from your code base. Prevents flakey tests from producing noise and blocking CI. *Flaky Tests: Detect and eliminate Flaky Tests. In 2022, we raised a $25M Series A led by Initialized Capital (Garry Tan) and a16z (Peter Levine)

Our tech stack:

* Frontend: Typescript, React, Redux, Next.js * Backend: Typescript, Node, AWS, CDK, k8s, gRPC * Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, Jaeger * CLI: C++20, Bazel * VSCode Extension: Typescript * CI/CD: GitHub Actions * General: GitHub, Slack, Linear, Slite Unlimited PTO (and we all actually take PTO), competitive salary and equity packages! Estuary 3 months ago
Next.js Python

Estuary | US Based / Remote | Full-time – https://estuary.dev/

Estuary is a VC-backed startup building the next generation of real-time data infrastructure. Our platform, Estuary Flow, combines change data capture (CDC), stream processing, and declarative configuration to unify real-time and batch data movement.

We’re open-source, developer-first, and focused on making data engineering radically simpler.

We’re a small, high-trust team with deep experience in distributed systems, stream processing, and data tooling — and we’re growing.

We’re hiring for:

Senior Backend Engineer (Integrations) – 5+ years of backend engineering experience. Own and scale high-impact systems that power real-time data pipelines. You’ll work on complex integrations with external APIs and databases, improve our internal connector frameworks, and tackle deep challenges in performance, reliability, and developer experience.

Backend Engineer (Integrations) – 2–4 years of backend experience. Help expand and maintain our catalog of real-time data connectors using Python. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers to build and optimize integrations with third-party systems, while deepening your skills in infrastructure and stream processing.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for engineers who care about building reliable, maintainable systems and enjoy working with complex APIs and data flows. We value curiosity, clear communication, and a willingness to learn.

Bonus points for experience with CDC tools, open source contributions, or fast-paced startups.

Braid Technologies | Senior Software Engineer – Systems | Tokyo, Japan | Full-time | On-site | https://www.notion.so/braid-technologies/senior-software-eng...

We're building a next-generation platform for advanced engineering design automation – a system that goes from high-level problem descriptions to optimized, manufacturing-ready geometry. Think: compilers for physics problems, not just code.

We're looking for senior systems engineers with strong computer science foundations to help us build our core stack – from DSL compilers to high-performance geometry kernels. You’ll join a tight-knit, deeply technical team with backgrounds in C++, Rust, compilers, optimization, physics and mathematics.

What you'll work on: - A custom compiler stack for our engineering DSL - High-performance geometric algorithms (meshing, optimization, constraints) - Systems-level architecture and backend infrastructure - Collaborative work with researchers, designers, and domain experts

You might be a fit if you: - Have strong CS fundamentals and systems programming experience - Know your way around C++, Rust, Python of functional languages - Enjoy writing performant, well-architected code for real-world math problems - Are excited by geometry, compilers, or simulation engines

We’re based in Tokyo and this role is on-site. We’ll sponsor your relocation and visa. Our team is international, and we work in English.

Hi my name is Tom O’Donnell, I’m founder of Big Picture AI Consultants… We’re looking for a TOP-TIER software engineer who wants to focus on building and let someone else handle the selling… For the record, we’re amateur software developers but genius level marketers We’re assembling a lean, no-BS startup team. We’ve got the product ideas, the business development muscle, and the hunger to scale. What we’re missing is you—a builder who knows how to architect platforms, not just patch together code. You won’t be held by the hand. You’ll be trusted to figure things out and lead the technical direction. If you’re self-motivated, understand what it takes to get a startup off the ground, and want to team up with people who respect your zone of genius—this might be your shot. The Deal • We’re offering a real shot to walk away with $10M+ in 3 years • You bring serious technical chops—we’ll handle the rest • If you’re a legit software engineer, tools like OpenAI, LangChain, ElevenLabs, etc. will be easy to work with ⸻If have any interest, please let me know… Thanks,Tom O’Donnell Email is hidden

Toontown: Corporate Clash | Volunteer/unpaid position | Remote only (worldwide) | All experience level welcome

We are Toontown: Corporate Clash, an entirely not-for-profit MMORPG that is a fan reimagination of Disney's defunct MMORPG, Toontown Online. Besides continuing the legacy of Toontown Online and bringing the MMO into the 21st Century, we also use our original IP to [raise funds for charities](https://corporateclash.net/news/article/155) - we have raised over $54K for children's health and LGBTQ+ charities.

We are on the lookout for a broad range of talents, from Tech to Art to Community Management! Everybody on the team is a volunteer - there is no salary, we do not solicit donations and all expenses are funded by our staff. We pride ourselves as being a training ground for up-and-coming talent to gain experience working on a real product in a 100+ strong team; some of our volunteers have used their experience with us to land jobs in and out of the industry.

We have lots of interesting tech problems that arises from building on top of a 20+ year old codebase (yes, Toontown development started out on Python 2.0!). We are especially interested in people with an interest in distributed systems, system administration, game physics and automation pipelines!

Our Tech Stack is varied: Python for the game, C++ for distributed networking services, JavaScript / TypeScript and some PHP for web. We're working on modernizing our tech stack to migrate away from PHP, and looking to introduce Rust (for Tauri / core networking) into our stack.

You can see all of our positions and how to apply here (when emailing us, feel free to say HN): https://corporateclash.net/help/apply

How much you want to contribute is up to you; our volunteers typically contribute 5-10 hours a week.

NOTE: You can ignore the 3-month in-game activity requirement, it's being revised soon!
